Shoutout to Cranio Care Bears!

After sleepless nights and napless days, we came home from the hospital to the BEST surprise waiting on our doorstep.

Before you jump to conclusions, no, it wasn't a kitty cat (husband's allergic anyways, although that would have been amazing!).

The package had Sharpie scribbled with the words, "Prayers for Chloe!" signed with a little heart.

Cranio Care Bears is a foundation that donates care packages to families whose children are having surgery for a condition called craniosynostosis. I discovered them while searching Facebook for cranio support groups. (P.S. Success stories from other parents is what really helped me collect the courage to continue with Chloe's surgery- Cranio Kids- Craniosynostosis Support is also a swell group to join.)

It took me months to actually apply for a care package (surgical denial... doubts that time would actually come... not wanting to accept too much charity), but I kept seeing all the pictures of thoughtful prayer chains strung across hospital beds and folded! So. Glad. I did.

The application process was quick- they require some personal information, a photo of the child that would be kept private, any info about your child that would help them get to know him or her, and then you can choose the free standard package or upgrade to a deluxe and simply pay shipping. Since we're a little tight on the dough (but not doughnuts... I've had plenty of those) I opted for the FREE care package.

I couldn't believe how many goodies and LOVE the founders of Cranio Care Bears could pack into that package!

On the extra info, I added that Chloe's favorite animal is the kitty and she loves playing with tags. The PERFECT handmade fleece kitty blanket, with bright colors and knotted tags, was carefully selected for our package. Of course, because of the sentiment it's now one of my favorite blankies (oh, and Chloe's, too... she cuddles with it at night... not me... *blush*).

For Chloe, there was also a strawberry teether, mini board book, a handmade knit Panda hat (adore-able!), handmade flower hair clips (can't wait till she has hair to use them!!), kitty pajamas, a prayer chain, and socks.

For the parents, mints, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, gum, candy, Advil, trail mix, fruit leather, lotion, chapstick, tissues (you know Cranio Care Bears are thoughtful because they added these), and a pen.
